Yazoo - Situation (DJ Esanto 2005 Remix & Mash-Ups)

Well. I participated in last year's Mixfreaks mix contest which turned out to become this year's contest. I was working on a mash-up, can't quite remember which one it was but I wasn't sure whether or not to make it an entry for the Mixfreaks mix contest. So my "hiphouse remix" of Yazoo's Situation became entry no.1. At that time I was working on C.A.C.T.P.M. 3 and I didn't know what to do for the 2nd entry and so my Yazoo Ft. Talk Talk hiphouse mash-up made it. I always get in some kind of trouble when participating in a mix contest. They're usually around when I'm working on a "huge" project. Or it's just me timing bad. Anyway, my Yazoo-Situation hiphouse remix, as well as my two Yazoo Ft. Talk Talk mash-ups (of which I created two radio-edits) can be found in the link mentioned above. Downloadable from here.

20 Fingers Ft. Roula - Lick It (DJ Esanto 2005 Mash-Ups)

You all met 20 Fingers Ft. Roula already in my FavoriteFM mix that was aired on the 6th of May (see "FavFM" for more info). Before I finished that mix, I created one mash-up with the "Lick It" vocals using two 80's classics! For those who remember the "Ouch Homeboys" mix from, if I'm not mistaken, 1982, this mash-up will sound very familiar as I paid a tribute to the classic "Ouch" mix that also features Paul Parker's Right On Target. The second mash-up I've created using the "Lick It" vocals, is one that already was born during the making of the earlier mentioned FavoriteFM mix. I had more mashes planned but I'll save firepower for new mixes to come! Downloadable from here.

Total Touch - Touch Me There (DJ Esanto 2005 Mash-Ups)

Mash-up #1: Benny Benassi ft. Total Touch - Touch My Satisfaction. In all four mashes, Trijntje Oosterhuis' vocals and backvocalists were used to team up with instrumentals and specific vocal sections of other songs. Two versions of "Satisfaction" by Benny Benassi were used in this one: The "Isak Original" and "Poxymusic's No School Mix".

Mash-up #2: Benny Benassi ft. Total Touch - Push And Satisfy Me There. In this one, the "Isak Original" and "Radio Slave Remix" of "Satisfaction" were used to be combined with the wonderful vocals by Trijntje Oosterhuis.

Mash-up #3: Brandy ft. Total Touch - Touch Me And Talk About It. Well, I created this one especially to be used in livesets. A long intro and dito outro. I took bits and pieces from the "Thick Dick Dub" version of Brandy's Talk About Our Love. Mash it with the Trijntje vocals and get additional vocals from the song 'Everybody Everybody' by Black Box. :-)

Mash-up #4: Rob Hubbard ft. Total Touch - The Chimera Love Touch. Okay, this one was done with a lot of fun in mind. Nostalgia strikes again. Another brilliant tune by one of my C64 hero musicians: Rob Hubbard! The wonderful tune was taken from the game: Chimera. Percussions, to give it a housy touch, come from the remix of Brandy's song (see Mash-Up #3). And also in this one, Trijntje does her vocals in between C64 tuning :)

MC Sar & The Real McCoy - It's On You (DJ Esanto 2005 Mash-Ups)

Mash-up #1: Eric Prydz & Steve Angello ft. MC Sar & The Real McCoy - Woz On You. In this mash-up I used the "Woz not woz" club mix and drum tools which team up with the a cappella version of "It's on you". Perfect for the dancefloor @ 128 bpm. A lot of cutting and pasting with the "It's on you" a cappella to get it to fit nicely on the "Woz not woz" instrumental bits.

Mash-up #2: Double Trouble & The Rebel MC ft. MC Sar - Street Tuff On You. In this mash-up the "It's on you" a cappella teams up with "Street tuff" club mix 12" version. I used not only instrumental bits from "Street tuff" but also a little piece of the chorus which has been mashed with bits from MC Sar. Also used in this mash-up is a vocal loop taken from Da Klubb Kings - Two thumbs up. Sounds familiar? Yep, it sure does. Just listen to "Just keep rockin'" by Double Trouble. Gets your feet moving @ 118.5 bpm :P

Duke - So In Love With You (DJ Esanto 2004 Remixes)

(remix #1 where Duke teams up with Rob Hubbard! Rob, like Martin Galway, is one of my all-time favorite C64 music composers. Featuring in this remix is Rob's composition of the "Knucklebusters" in-game tune, @ 62,5 bpm/125 bpm) Get ready for a "loungy" kind of remix ;P
(remix #2 where Duke's a cappella has been mixed with another cool Maurice Nu Soul instrumental. This one is perfect for the dance floor :-) Downloadable from here.

Nina Sky ft. Missy Elliot - Work Ya Body (DJ Esanto Remixes)

(2 mash-ups, one containing Missy Elliot's vocals of "Work it" on Nina Sky's instrumental version of "Move ya body", and another one where I added Nina Sky's vocals as well as some other nice features :P Both mash-ups are @ 121 bpm). Downloadable from here.

Alain Clark - Heerlijk (DJ Esanto's No Panties No Cameltoe Radio Mix)

(...a mash-up/remix using the "Heerlijk straatmix" and Fannypack's Cameltoe instrumentals) This is the "sexy" radio mix. Also available: a club mix, using the 2 Moony songs (see below) Aired on Radio 538's Mixmania and it got rated a 7.3! Downloadable from here.

Moony - Dove (I'll be loving you) (DJ Esanto 2004 Remix #1)
